A Major Upgrade for Transformation Suite

The Elixir Transformation Suite has been substantially upgraded with the release of 6.50 and later versions. Much work has been done on both the input parsers and the output writers to improve the fidelity and speed of conversions. There are some important changes that you will need to manage when you upgrade. 

1.       The default location for the application program files for this release has been changed to drive:\Program Files\Elixir Technologies\Bin. The program files for the previous version (locations listed below) are removed during the upgrade process.

2.       This change will affect any external processes you may have for automating TS or PM processing - for example, if you have Scout entries or automated processes calling ElxClCu.exe, the command line converter. You will need to change these to point to the new program folder location.

3.       The LCDS input converter has been enhanced to handle both LCDS and Metacode and a number of speed and fidelity improvements have been made. We recommend that all Metacode conversions be moved to this converter to take advantage of these improvements. The separate Metacode input converter will be phased out in the next major release of the product. You must migrate all of your Metacode applications to the new configuration prior to installing that version when it becomes available next year.

Note: Processing a Metacode file using the LCDS converter will now require the use of JSL. This ensures that all printer setup parameters are used during Metacode processing, providing a more accurate emulation of the print environment.
