Did you know, that Elixir now
supports diskettes formatted as low or high density, for Xerox printers. You must have version 3.21 for this option.

If you are running Elixir software under Windows NT, please
see information below
ElixiDisk Utilities for NT
Under Windows NT, application programs no longer have direct access to hardware
devices. All device requests are passed through NT's Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL). Due
to the restrictions imposed by this architecture, the ElixiDisk utilities only support a
subset of the floppy disk formats handled by the centralized printers. The following
formats are supported under NT:
- 3.5" low-density
- 5.25" high-density
In order to use one of these formats, a special update to your ElixiDisk utilities is
required. You must contact your Elixir representative to obtain this update.
The following functions can be performed using the enhanced ElixiDisk utilities:
From the Desktop, files can be copied to/from and deleted from diskettes. The directory
listing ("For READing") and formatting functions cannot be used under NT.
From a DOS window, files can be copied to/from (XCPY.EXE) and deleted (XDEL.EXE) as
well as a directory listing obtained (XDIR.EXE). Diskettes cannot be formatted. |
